Classic Tech Accused of Nepal Telecom Cable Wire Theft 

A vehicle belonging to Classic Tech, an internet service provider, was arrested in Kathmandu on Sunday for allegedly being involved in the theft of Nepal Telecom cables. 

The vehicle, a white van with the registration number Ba 18 Cha 7713, was stopped by police in the Nepaltar area after a local resident reported seeing the van carrying a large quantity of copper cable. The driver of the van, who has been identified as Suresh Shrestha, was arrested along with two other Classic Tech employees. 

Nepal Telecom officials said that about 80 meters of copper cable had been stolen from the Nepaltar area. The cable was being used by Nepal Telecom for ADSL and landline services. 

According to Classic Tech Deputy General Manager Rojit Bhattarai, the business filed a police report against the three workers. He stated that the employees were fired once they were discovered to be implicated in the theft.  

According to Bhattarai, the corporation is cooperating with the police inquiry.  

Theft of Nepal Telecom wires is a major issue in Nepal. A number of incidences of cable theft have occurred in recent years, disrupting telecommunications services for companies and households.  

The police are investigating the latest cable theft incident and attempting to identify those involved.
